Insurance underwriter records compiled in 1892 suggest that the distillery was of frame construction with a shingle roof. The property included pens for cattle and hogs 18/0 ft south of the still, and two bonded warehouses: Warehouse A -- frame construction with a shingle roof, 108 ft west of the still. Warehouse B -- frame construction with a metal or slate roof, 400 ft west of the still. The insurance records show that it was owned by William Berkele. |
