The King's Valley Distillery
RD #4, Maryland
Montgomery County, MD



The distillery was built and operated by Luther Green King on Little Bennett Creek near Burnt Hill Rd. The date is uncertain, but probably around 1865. King also owned a sawmill on the site.

1897: The MD State Tax Commissioner reports that the taxable value of distilled spirits for this year was $7,504. "King's distillery" was owned by Luther G King.

1905: The MD State Tax Commissioner reports that the taxable value of distilled spirits for this year was $9,460. Luther G King was owner.

1907: The taxable value of distilled spirits for this year was $10,112. The distillery was owned by L G King.

The distillery was razed by fire in this year.

1909: Luther King died and the distillery was left to his grandson, John R. Lewis. Lewis is shown as executor in the MD state tax records, with the taxable value of distilled spirits for this year being $9,700.
