Rothschild Bros. listed from 1874-1921.
This is a glass signed by master etcher George Truog.
The 1875 directory shows the company to comprise Edward L. Rothschild, Henry Rothschild, and Samuel Rothschild. Samuel Rothschild has moved to Buffalo by 1890 but is still shown to be a part of the company, and they've added two new members: Moses Wertheimer & Paul Steinberg.
By 1900, the company is down to Henry Rothschild, Moses Wertheimer & Paul Steinberg. Abraham Rothschild replaces Henry by 1910 and by 1915 Moses Wertheimer & Paul Steinberg are continuing alone under the Rothschild Bros. banner.
The 1921 directory lists Rothschild Bros. with Paul Steinberg the surviving member, still selling liquor at 214 S Front.
Brand names used by this company include: "4 A", "AAAA", "No. 6 Pure Rye", and "Red Shield."
