TRADE MARK (tiny lettering arched between the outstretched wings of an eagle. Eagle has a ribbon in its beak and its feet perched on two frosted hemispheres marked with latitude and longitude lines. The hemispheres show the American continent on the left and Europe and Asia on the right. To the left of eagle is reverse arched: KENTUCKY, to right is reverse arched: BOURBON) / High Life (script) / CREAM. Sun rays radiate behind entire label.

S A Arata & Co. listed from 1889-1911.

The High Life brand was registered in 1877 to M. Durner of Cincinnati, OH and then in 1906 to Harry E Block of St. Louis MO. This glass is from Arata & Co. in Portland, OR., dating from between 1894 and 1911.

Thomas (WBO) shows a "High Life" shot glass and an identically labeled mirror with the Arata & Co. address - 104 Third St. High Life was one of their main brands. The 1901 directory suggests that this was a saloon, Frank G Arata, President; Stephen A Arata, Manager; Louis Arata, Clerk.

In 1903 and 1904, Charles Arata is shown as a bartender at the company, F G Arata is President.
