Snyder shows the Louis Hunter 1870 brand being used by J & A Freiberg of Cincinnati. "Golden Wedding" was a Jos S Finch & Co. brand (Pittsburgh, PA). "Old Oaken Bucket" was registered to Charles Stutts Co. of Savannah, GA, although J & A Freiberg were using it also.

Thomas gives a history of the company in WBO=W:

Jaffe & Co. originated in Healdsburg, CA, established on June 26, 1886, when Louis Jaffe purchased the Pridham vineyards. The company established its Seattle branch on August 4, 1889, orginally operating from a tent on Old Mill St. because a fire had destroyed much of the city. State Prohibition shut down the Seattle operations in 1915, but Louis moved to San Francisco and ran a retail and mail-order business from there until enactment of national Prohibition laws.

Jaffe & Co. also operated a saloon and wholesale outlets in Spokane, WA.

Brand names used by this company include: "Louis Hunter 1870."
