A wooden crate used to ship a dozen quart bottles of whiskey from the O.F.C. distillery, owned and operated by The Geo T. Stagg Co. of Frankfort, KY. It measures 19-3/4” wide, 10” tall and 13-5/8” deep. It is printed on three sides. One side reads: “THE GEO. T. STAGG CO. / DISTILLERS / PERMIT KY – A – 161. / Whiskey Three Gallons 100 Proof / DATE OF MANUFACTURE SPRING 1913 / For Medicinal purposes only. Sale of use for other purpose will cause heavy penalties to be inflicted." The obverse notes: “Date of Sale June 30, 1923"
