Poepl & Giller were brewers: see The Common Stuff by Dick Bales for more information.

The following came from bbcb49ers@***.***, November 2008:
"I have been a Warsaw collector for years and spent many hours scouring the brewery buildings and talking to ex-employees and the brewmaster before anybody really cared. What some people have told me is that a distillery was run by Popel or Giller before the brewery days. The remains are hidden in the woods along the river just a mile or so from the brewery. It looks like a limestone-constructed fort but I have been told that is where the distillery was. I have seen evidence of liquor items from Warsaw before and believe this to be true."
