Early admission was not due to begin until 1:15 pm on Saturday, but I headed over to the Gateway Convention Center at 9 am to sign up for early admission and claim a name badge.
Curious to see what was going on inside, I snuck in the back door.

There was a steady stream of dealers ferrying boxes back and forth from their cars and minivans, but there was no dealing be done and the bouncers gave me the OK to go in and make my way to the FOHBC table located through the doors on the opposite side of the building
.

I was stopped two seconds later by Paul Van Vactor - oops, "it's a fair cop, Guv!"

Once inside the door, I could see that the show room was long, thin and cavernous.  It seemed even more so because the rear was an expanse of empty floor where tables should have been.

Still, there were four long rows running the width of the room and two lesser ones, so the show had definite promise.  I later looked at a  floor plan and it seemed that at least two rows had been deleted in the time since the show had been originally conceived: there must be a story here somewhere.

After picking up my early-buyer badge, a program and a T-shirt, I headed back out on the road and to visit local antique malls in search of elusive pre-pro glass.
