By 1860, he and J C Wilmerding bought this company that in 1871 started listing as Wilmerding, Kellogg & Co. Kellogg split from the company in 1877 and disappears from the directories until 1897. Wilmerding continued in solo business until 1896, when he teamed up with Louis H Loewe of Loewe Bros. & Co.
