The Boone County Distillery
RD #8, 6 th District
Boone County, KY

Cecil (1999) notes that the distillery was established by W T Snyder on the Ohio River.

Insurance underwriter records compiled in 1892 suggest that the distillery was built of brick with a metal or slate roof. The property included several cattle barns of frame construction and six warehouses:
No. 1 -- a bonded warehouse adjoining the cistern room. It was brick-built with a metal or slate roof.
No. 2 -- a free warehouse adjoining the malt house. It was brick with a metal or slate roof. The malt house was also used as a free warehouse.
Nos. 3, 4 & 5 were all adjoining and built of brick with metal or slate roofs. They were located 450 ft west of the still house.
No. 6 -- a new warehouse, built of brick with a metal or slate roof. It was located 450 ft west of the still.

In 1892, the distillery was shown to be owned by E L Workum of Freiberg & Workum, but was operating under at least 70 different names.

In 1907, the distillery was acquired by The Trust, who ran it until 1918.
