RD #16, 6 th District
Harrison County, KY

Insurance underwriter records compiled in 1892 suggest that the distillery was of frame construction with a shingle, metal, or slate roof. The property included a single bonded warehouse, also of frame construction with a metal or slate roof, 60 ft SE of the still. At that time, it was owned by Boyer Distilling Co.

Note that the IRS records for 1903-1914 have RD #16 of the 6th district as being in Levingood, KY. There is no record of such a town on current maps. The warehouse records show withdrawals by the Hayes Bros Farm & Dist Co. (1903-1904) and the Hayes Valley Distilling Co. (1904-1914).

"Hayes Valley Distilling Company was in Pendleton County, KY., about 2 miles East of Falmouth. The area of Levingood was later known as Hayes Station. (Harrison County is the next county south of Pendleton)" (thanks to Laurie Kuhlman for this clarification, 11-2009).
