Malcolm Fulton was the first distiller of Fulton Whiskey. He was an immigrant from Ireland but of Scots descent. He had learned the art of distillation from his family and through working in Hungarian and German distilleries after the Napoleonic wars. In the US, he found employment in Hygenic Springs and helped set up a distillery making "Fulton Whiskey". The distillery was passed down to a great-grand-daughter, in whose hands the distillery and business fell into neglect. In 1887, Henry R Myers (the son and grandson of a distiller) acquired the company and rebuilt Registered Distillery No. 22, 6th District. They patented a demijohn for bulk sales, replacing the older jug (from Company Literature. 1901)

The company had a New York office.

Brand names used by this company include: "Fulton", "Fulton Gin", "London Derry", and "London Derry Gin."
