Notes:
Jas M Schwoyer & Co. listed from 1894-1919. Snyder lists Jos. Silverman Co. of Cincinnati as using the brand, but Schwoyer is a more likely candidate given the fact that Allentown is in the Lehigh Valley. Directory display ad in 1894 reads: "Wholesaler Dealers in Fine Wines & Liquors, The Celebrated Bouquet, Old Anchor and Gibson Pure Rye Whiskies a speciality. Satisfaction guaranteed". A letterhead dated Sept. 29, 1898, is printed with the company name as J M Schwoyer & Co., with officials J M Schwoyer and A R Hahn, but crudely ammended with an inkpen to read "Smith & Schwoyer", with Hahn crossed out and the name H S Smith entered. They claimed "Old Bouquet and Allentown Club Rye Whiskies a Speciality". Note that Old Bouquet and Old Anchor were Humphrey & Martin brands (Philadelphia). Gibson was also based in Philadelphia. Brand names used by this company include: "Allentown Club", "Belle of Lehigh", "Belle of Lehigh", "Old Anchor", "Old Bouquet", and "Turf Club." Company name timeline: Jas M Schwoyer & Co.
