William T Heyden Co. listed from 1906-1918. The images that accompany this history were kindly provided by the William J Heyden, grandson of the founder. He also relates the following: "My grandfather loved the liquor business and it was good to him too until prohibition hit. While he had many opportunities to stay in business illegally he made the decision to follow the law and close shop. My brothers and uncles remember clearly using axes to break open hundreds of wooden barrels of liquor and watching most of it go down the drain. I say most of it because there are great stories of some heavy drinking during this sad activity." Brand names used by this company include: "Heyden's Baltimore Reserve", and "Old Waveland."
