According to OASG, David M Hoffman established D M Hoffman & Co. in 1884. He ran a saloon at 1009 Pacific which, in 1891, was called The Monogram.

Harry A Hoffman joined the business in 1904 and several years later opened his own saloon, the Family Liquor House, at 1138 Commerce. It operated until Prohibiton, after which Hoffman became a grocer.
