Item number: SG7116
Origin: Monroe, LA
Inscription: J.C. STEELE, / MONROE, LA.

On the obverse:
J.C.W. (large fancy block letters, arched) / TRADE MARK (words are separated by a picture of an old-fashioned well-head with a rope and handle to bring up a bucket. The brick well head is etched with the letters: ER) / WHISKEY (reverse arched).
Dimensions: 2-3/16" x 1-15/16" x 1-5/16"
Condition:  The glass is in very good condition with minor interior haze. There is no damage beyond the usual superficial handling marks. The dealer's name is strong and shows no evidence of wear - the photograph is unevenly lit which makes it look like the etching is weak. It's not. The Weller label is a little discolored from tobacco smoke and there is a rub in the top line, as shown. LA glasses are very rare - this is only one of two known examples of this glass!
