Stitzel Distilling Co. listed from 1873-1919. According to HSG, Mondamin appears as a young spirit in Longfellow's poem "Hiawatha". After being "bested" and buried, he is reborn as maize, the friend of man. Their distillery was at Broadway, SE cor 26 th (1873-1902). See the distillery listing for more details.
