Uri had a wholesale liquor business in Paducah since 1872. In 1897 he joined Bernard and Isaac Bernheim to form Bernheim Bros. & Uri. He was a brother-in-law of Isaac W Bernheim (of "Old Harper" fame) . Uri sold out in 1892 to form N. M. Uri & Co. and started operating the International Distillery at Hunters Station (RD #371, 5th Dist.)
They had a branch office in Chicago.
