The Orene Parker Co. listed from 1886-1918.
In 1872, Orene Parker owned an interest in RD #405, 5th District, Gethsemane, KY., but sold his interest to M C Beam. By 1903, company letterheads were claiming ownership of RD #47 of the 5th District, also located at Gethsemane.
The "Old Maid" brand was originally used by Boone Bros. RD #422 at Bardstown, in which Orene Parker also had an interest. The Boone Bros. distillery was a descendant of the Old Boone Distillery, est. at Meadow Lawn, KY, in Jefferson County., which claimed to be the first distillery in Kentucky (Snyder, OBM6/74).
Brand names used by this company include: "1884 Rye", "Boone Co.", "Defiance", "Mayfield", "Old Griffin", "Old Maid ", and "Old Petoskey."
