The Distillery was located in Relay, MD. "Calvert whiskey" was named after Lord Calvert, the first governor of MD.
Directory Notes: Display ad, 1895, p. 952: "Distillers of Calvert Pure Rye Malt Whiskey". 1897, p. 1045: Albert Gottschalk, President., p. 979 (1899), (1900), p. 1012 (1901), p. 1092 (1902): "J Henry Thomas, sec., Joseph Gottschalk, Treas." Similar on p. 1169, 1903, p. 1138 in 1904., p. 1148 in 1905, p. 1208 in 1906. 1766 Gay address is noted as a temporary location in 1904. "Calvert The Banner" ad on p. 1341 (1914), p. 1389 (1915)
